R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Family and friends will forever treasure their
  memories of Jeremy Davis Brown of Austin, who died on September 9,
  2014, at the age of 43; and
         WHEREAS, Jeremy Brown was born on January 31, 1971, at the
  Keesler Air Force Base Hospital in Biloxi, Mississippi, to Debra
  and David Brown; he grew up in Mississippi and in his early years
  lived in Salt Lake City, Las Vegas, and Odessa, before graduating
  from high school in Bellaire, Texas, in 1989; and
         WHEREAS, For more than 10 years, Mr. Brown worked as a
  private investigator in Houston; in 1997, he received a bachelor's
  degree in government from The University of Texas at Austin, and he
  went on to earn his law degree at South Texas College of Law in
  Houston; he was admitted to the bar in 2006 and opened his own
  family law practice in Austin; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Brown spent as much time as he could pursuing an
  active life out-of-doors, fishing along the Texas Coast and hunting
  in South and West Texas; he was devoted to his three Labrador
  retrievers, and he loved everything about Texas, from the history
  and the landscape, to its music and its people; and
         WHEREAS, Although his life ended far too soon, Jeremy Brown
  will forever be remembered by his loved ones and his friends for his
  kindness, his warmth, and his concern for others; now, therefore,
  be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Jeremy Davis Brown
  and extend sincere condolences to the members of his family: to his
  mother, Debra Clark Eckel; to his father, Marshall Davis Brown Jr.;
  to his maternal grandmother, Zoe Clark; to his stepmother, Jo Robin
  Brown; to his stepfather, Floyd Eckel; to his brothers, Nicholas
  Eckel, Robert Lee Brown, and William Price Brown; to his sisters,
  Elizabeth Cathleen Brown, Jessica Eckel Blad, and Kathryn Eckel; to
  his aunt, Ronda Clark Barnett; and to his other relatives and
  friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Jeremy
  Brown.
