R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The 103rd birthday of an esteemed Texan is indeed
  cause for celebration, and World War II veteran Leon Evans of
  Trinity is marking this special milestone in his life on April 11,
  2015; and
         WHEREAS, Born in 1912, Mr. Evans came of age during the war
  and served his country in the United States Army Air Forces as a
  mechanic from 1942 to 1945; he went through basic training at Dale
  Mabry Army Air Base in Tallahassee, Florida, and at a base in South
  Carolina, and he was stationed in New Guinea; as he likes to say,
  his service lasted exactly three years, three months, and eight
  days; and
         WHEREAS, Today, Mr. Evans remains in good health, and he can
  be seen driving his pickup truck around town; every week, he
  generously mows the lawn for the Presbyterian Church; and
         WHEREAS, A respected member of the community, Leon Evans is a
  source of tremendous inspiration, and in sharing the experience
  gained through more than a century of life well lived, he bestows a
  precious gift of wisdom that benefits all who are fortunate enough
  to know him; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Leon Evans on his 103rd birthday
  and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and,
  be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Evans as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
