R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Central Texas Highland Lakes are irreplaceable |
|
natural resources that supply drinking water to area residents and |
|
serve as an important economic engine in the Lone Star State; and |
|
WHEREAS, Formed in 2011, the Central Texas Water Coalition |
|
(CTWC) is a nonpartisan nonprofit organization that brings together |
|
concerned individuals and groups to constructively address the |
|
water issues of these lakes and the rest of the lower Colorado River |
|
basin; the coalition strives to protect water supplies and water |
|
levels in Central Texas for the benefit of economic development and |
|
human health and safety; and |
|
WHEREAS, The CTWC now boasts a membership of more than 3,000 |
|
Texans from the business community, local government, property |
|
owner associations, and environmental interest groups; these |
|
outstanding volunteers spend countless hours attending meetings, |
|
doing research, participating in outreach programs, and advocating |
|
for water policies; and |
|
WHEREAS, Water management and conservation are even more |
|
important during these times of extreme drought, and the members of |
|
the Central Texas Water Coalition are indeed deserving of |
|
recognition for their dedicated efforts in preserving the Highland |
|
Lakes; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby honor the Central Texas Water Coalition and |
|
commend its members for their commitment to this important cause; |
|
and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for the CTWC as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
