R E S O L U T I O N

|
WHEREAS, Robert M. Worley is retiring as president and CEO of |
|
|
the Economic Development Alliance for Brazoria County in June 2015, |
|
|
following eight years of distinguished service in that position; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Since joining the Alliance in October 2007, |
|
|
Mr. Worley has made an immeasurable contribution to promoting and |
|
|
diversifying the county's economic base, attracting high-wage jobs |
|
|
in target industries, and supporting the interests of existing |
|
|
businesses in the area; under his able leadership, the nonprofit |
|
|
organization has implemented a number of best practices to benefit |
|
|
Brazoria County, including utilizing economic impact analyses and |
|
|
fostering positive and professional interactions with prospective |
|
|
businesses, Alliance members, and elected officials; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A graduate of The University of Texas at Austin, |
|
|
where he earned a bachelor's degree in psychology, this esteemed |
|
|
administrator has been employed in economic development in the Lone |
|
|
Star State since the late 1970s; Mr. Worley joined the Alliance |
|
|
after working for economic development entities in Paducah, Mount |
|
|
Pleasant, McKinney, Bryan/College Station, and Dumas; in all his |
|
|
endeavors, he enjoys the love and support of his wife, Fawncyne; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Robert Worley has made a positive difference in the |
|
|
lives of his fellow citizens, and he may take justifiable pride in a |
|
|
job well done as he looks ahead to the next exciting chapter of his |
|
|
life; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Robert Worley on his retirement as |
|
|
president and CEO of the Economic Development Alliance for Brazoria |
|
|
County and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be |
|
|
it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Worley as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
