R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Fields Store Elementary School in Waller has been |
|
|
named a 2014 Blue Ribbon School, the highest national designation a |
|
|
school can receive; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Created by the U.S. Department of Education, the |
|
|
Blue Ribbon Schools Program recognizes schools demonstrating |
|
|
overall academic excellence or making notable progress in improving |
|
|
outcomes among disadvantaged students; the program has been in |
|
|
existence for more than three decades; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Fields Store is skillfully led by principal Melissa |
|
|
Crosby, and its students have consistently performed above average |
|
|
on state and national assessments; the school serves approximately |
|
|
700 prekindergarten through fifth-grade students in the Waller |
|
|
Independent School District; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Through their dedication and hard work, the students |
|
|
and faculty of Fields Store Elementary School have built an |
|
|
impressive record of scholastic achievement, and they may take |
|
|
great pride in earning this prestigious honor; now, therefore, be |
|
|
it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Fields Store Elementary School on |
|
|
its selection as a 2014 National Blue Ribbon School and extend to |
|
|
its students, teachers, and staff sincere best wishes for continued |
|
|
success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the school as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
