R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Patrick Hudson of Silsbee High School distinguished |
|
|
himself with his powerlifting achievements during 2015, earning a |
|
|
trip to the Texas High School Powerlifting Association State |
|
|
Championship and finishing in second place in the super heavyweight |
|
|
division; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Hudson qualified for state with his triumphant |
|
|
showing at the Region 4 Division 2 competition on March 7 in |
|
|
Cleveland, Texas; he lifted a total of 1,705 pounds and easily won |
|
|
his weight class, finishing 300 pounds ahead of his nearest |
|
|
competitor; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Matching his skills against other top lifters at the |
|
|
THSPA State Championship on March 28 in Abilene, Mr. Hudson hoisted |
|
|
690 pounds in the squat and 395 in the bench press, while his |
|
|
715-pound performance in the deadlift was the best of the entire |
|
|
meet; he tallied 1,800 pounds overall, taking the runner-up spot in |
|
|
his division; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Demonstrating hard work and unwavering |
|
|
determination to achieve his goals, Patrick Hudson has claimed a |
|
|
place among the elite young weight lifters in the Lone Star State, |
|
|
and he may indeed take pride in his outstanding accomplishments; |
|
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Patrick Hudson on his second-place |
|
|
finish in the super heavyweight division at the Texas High School |
|
|
Powerlifting Association State Championship and extend to him |
|
|
sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Hudson as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
