R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Logan O'Dell and Blaine Marks of the Buna High |
|
|
School fishing team achieved great distinction by capturing first |
|
|
place in the Costa Bassmaster High School Central Open, held at |
|
|
Toledo Bend Reservoir in Many, Louisiana, on March 15, 2015; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Under the guidance of team captain Brandon Marks, |
|
|
the pair of seventh-grade anglers reeled in the maximum five bass, |
|
|
which collectively weighed in at 17 pounds, 12 ounces, providing a |
|
|
one-ounce margin of victory over the second-place finishers; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The triumph earned the duo a $500 check for their |
|
|
school and qualified them to compete in the Costa Bassmaster High |
|
|
School National Championship in Tennessee in July 2015; in |
|
|
addition, they earned the opportunity to fish with Elite Series |
|
|
professionals as part of the High School Elite Experience presented |
|
|
by Costa; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, These talented young fishermen demonstrated |
|
|
exceptional skill and determination in pursuit of their goals, and |
|
|
they are a source of great pride to their classmates and their |
|
|
community; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Logan O'Dell and Blaine Marks on |
|
|
winning the Costa Bassmaster High School Central Open and extend to |
|
|
them sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. O'Dell and Mr. Marks as an expression of high |
|
|
regard by the Texas House of Representatives. |
