R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Jasmine Chapa, a fifth-grader at Sarita Elementary
  School, took top honors in the 2014 Texas Conservation Awards
  Poster Contest; and
         WHEREAS, Sponsored by the Texas State Soil and Water
  Conservation Board and the Association of Texas Soil and Water
  Conservation Districts, the contest required participants to
  demonstrate the importance of conservation and of caring for one's
  natural surroundings; entrants age 12 and under were given the
  opportunity to express their artistic ability while trying to
  convey the theme, "Where Does Your Watershed?"; and
         WHEREAS, The daughter of Trista Suarez and Michael and
  Michelle Chapa, Jasmine won the Kleberg-Kenedy Soil and Water
  Conservation District competition in February 2014, finishing
  first out of 447 entries; she then beat out 59 other worthy
  contestants at the Area III-level event, before her poster was
  selected as the overall state winner at TSSWCB's annual meeting in
  October; and
         WHEREAS, This talented young Texan has set an outstanding
  example of skill and creativity, and she is a source of great pride
  to her family and to her school; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Jasmine Chapa on winning the Texas
  Conservation Awards Poster Contest and extend to her sincere best
  wishes for continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Jasmine Chapa as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
