R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, High school graduation is one of life's pivotal
  milestones, and Erin Lynn Escobedo will experience that joyful
  occasion when she graduates with the Sanger High School Class of
  2015; and
         WHEREAS, The daughter of Richard and Jan Escobedo, Erin
  Escobedo is ranked fourth in her class of 196 with an exceptional
  3.998 grade point average and has already taken several courses for
  college credit; she has also participated in numerous
  extracurricular activities, including the National Honor Society,
  which she serves as events chair, the Science National Honor
  Society, the student council, the Spanish Club, and the National
  Ocean Sciences Bowl; and
         WHEREAS, Lettered in varsity powerlifting, Ms. Escobedo is a
  four-time qualifier for the state competition, where she has earned
  two medals, and she has twice been crowned regional champion and
  Natural Athlete Strength Association High School Nationals
  champion; she has also claimed five Best Light Weight Lifter
  trophies as well as a N.A.S.A., five regional, and seven Sanger High
  records, and she was selected to the Texas High School Women's
  Powerlifting Association Academic All-State team; a member of the
  varsity track and field and cheerleading squads as well, she was a
  district finalist in the 300-meter hurdles event and has been named
  an All-American Cheerleader by the Universal Cheerleaders
  Association; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Escobedo has further distinguished herself
  through her involvement in her community, giving generously of her
  time and talents in behalf of the Special Olympics and the Christmas
  Angel Tree and Keep Sanger Beautiful service projects and coaching
  cheerleading groups; in addition, she is a valued congregant at
  First Baptist Church of Sanger, where she has served the youth group
  and preschool ministries and participated in New Orleans mission
  trips; and
         WHEREAS, After graduation, Ms. Escobedo plans to attend
  Texas Woman's University to pursue a degree in kinesiology; and
         WHEREAS, Exciting challenges and opportunities await this
  outstanding young Texan, and it is a pleasure to join her family and
  friends in recognizing her as she embarks on a future bright with
  promise; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Erin Lynn Escobedo on her
  graduation from Sanger High School and extend to her sincere best
  wishes for success in her future endeavors; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Escobedo as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
