R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Members of the Republican Women of Yoakum are
  visiting the State Capitol on April 16, 2015, and this occasion
  provides an ideal opportunity to honor this notable organization;
  and
         WHEREAS, Drawing its membership from Lavaca, DeWitt, and
  Gonzales Counties, the Republican Women of Yoakum is affiliated
  with the Texas Federation of Republican Women, founded in 1938 as
  the Texas Federation of Republican Women's Clubs; the federation
  actively supports Republican candidates for office and encourages
  women to seek election; moreover, its members give generously of
  their time and talents in carrying out special assignments and
  campaign projects; and
         WHEREAS, Members of the Republican Women of Yoakum play a
  significant role in their community; they work diligently to
  promote the party's principles, to educate the voting public, and
  to recruit and assist conservative candidates; dedicated to
  improving the quality of life for their fellow citizens, they have
  contributed numerous volunteer hours, and the group has received
  the prestigious Tower Award from the TFRW; and
         WHEREAS, Through their grassroots political activism and
  community service, the members of the Republican Women of Yoakum
  are making a positive and lasting difference, and they may take
  justifiable pride in their group's record of civic engagement; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby recognize April 16, 2015, as Republican Women of
  Yoakum Day at the State Capitol.
