R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Locally owned businesses make a welcome |
|
|
contribution to the distinct character of their communities, and |
|
|
Beefy Burger has been a fixture on the Robstown restaurant scene for |
|
|
almost half a century; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Patricia Alonzo became an owner of Beefy Burger in |
|
|
1999, and she has managed and operated the fast-food establishment |
|
|
since 2008; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A Robstown native, Ms. Alonzo takes great pride in |
|
|
the teamwork of her personnel, and the Golden Rule is central to her |
|
|
management style; one of her staff members has worked at the |
|
|
restaurant for 17 years, with nearly perfect attendance, and her |
|
|
daughter, Priscilla, is employed at the restaurant; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A successful entrepreneur, Ms. Alonzo manages |
|
|
several rental properties as well; she holds a bachelor's degree in |
|
|
chemistry and biology from Texas A&M University--Kingsville; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The well-being of the people of Texas depends on a |
|
|
vibrant economy, and independent businesses play a vital role in |
|
|
the prosperity of the Lone Star State; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Patricia Alonzo on the success of |
|
|
Beefy Burger and extend to Ms. Alonzo and her staff sincere best |
|
|
wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Alonzo as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
