R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Dr. Cecelia Boswell was named the recipient of the |
|
|
2014 State Administrator of the Gifted Award by the Texas |
|
|
Association for the Gifted and Talented, and this achievement |
|
|
indeed merits special recognition; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Administrator of the Gifted Award is given |
|
|
annually to a worthy administrator who has demonstrated an ongoing |
|
|
commitment to the education of gifted children in the State of |
|
|
Texas; Dr. Boswell was chosen for this notable honor in recognition |
|
|
of her work as executive director of advanced academics for the Waco |
|
|
Independent School District; in that role, she helped the district |
|
|
to meet state compliance guidelines for gifted education and |
|
|
provided continuing education and training for teachers; moreover, |
|
|
she was instrumental in the establishment of the ATLAS Academy of |
|
|
Waco, an advanced learning middle school that emphasizes |
|
|
humanities, science, and technology in its curriculum; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, During her tenure with the Waco ISD, Dr. Boswell |
|
|
contributed immeasurably to creating a supportive and challenging |
|
|
educational environment for gifted students, and her achievements |
|
|
will resonate in the district for years to come; now, therefore, be |
|
|
it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Dr. Cecelia Boswell on her receipt |
|
|
of the 2014 State Administrator of the Gifted Award from the Texas |
|
|
Association for the Gifted and Talented and extend to her sincere |
|
|
best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Dr. Boswell as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
