R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The El Paso Electric Company has greatly benefited |
|
|
its community through its support of the El Paso Independent School |
|
|
District Education Foundation; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Established in 1994, the EPISD Education Foundation |
|
|
is dedicated to providing innovative teaching and helpful resources |
|
|
to students interested in careers in science, technology, |
|
|
engineering, and math (STEM) fields; through the years, the |
|
|
organization has engaged in corporate partnerships and has hosted |
|
|
fund-raising events and employee giving campaigns to award more |
|
|
than $1.4 million in college scholarships and classroom impact |
|
|
grants; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The El Paso Electric Company has helped advance the |
|
|
foundation's worthwhile mission by pledging a generous donation to |
|
|
its 2014-2015 scholarship fund and by serving as honorary chair for |
|
|
its Campaign for Excellence; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The education of young Texans is vital to the |
|
|
continued prosperity and dynamism of the Lone Star State, and the El |
|
|
Paso Electric Company has demonstrated a noteworthy commitment to |
|
|
helping prepare students to meet the challenges and opportunities |
|
|
that lie ahead; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commend the El Paso Electric Company for its |
|
|
contributions to the El Paso Independent School District Education |
|
|
Foundation and extend to the company sincere best wishes for the |
|
|
future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the El Paso Electric Company as an expression of high |
|
|
regard by the Texas House of Representatives. |
