R E S O L U T I O N

|
WHEREAS, October 18, 2014, was indeed a special day for |
|
|
T. J. Aulds and Dr. Beth Lewis of League City, for on that day they |
|
|
exchanged their wedding vows in Kemah and embarked on a new life |
|
|
together as husband and wife; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Aulds is a native of Texas City and an |
|
|
accomplished journalist, having worked in radio, television, |
|
|
newspaper, and online publications; he presently serves as the |
|
|
mainland editor for the Galveston County Daily News and as editor of |
|
|
the Connection newspapers; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Dr. Lewis met Mr. Aulds when he interviewed her at |
|
|
the start of her current three-year term as the first female |
|
|
president of the College of the Mainland; she has more than 25 years |
|
|
of experience in higher education instruction and administration, |
|
|
and she previously worked as the vice president of academic affairs |
|
|
at Northeast Lakeview College and the dean of academic affairs at |
|
|
Blinn College; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, When not involved with their myriad professional |
|
|
responsibilities, Mr. Aulds and Dr. Lewis enjoy spending time |
|
|
together at their home in League City with their dogs, Gracie and |
|
|
Olivia; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, T. J. Aulds and Beth Lewis share a profound bond of |
|
|
love, respect, and mutual regard that has only deepened with the |
|
|
passage of time, and the strength of their commitment ensures that |
|
|
many more joyful times await them; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate T. J. Aulds and Dr. Beth Lewis on |
|
|
their marriage and extend to them sincere best wishes for a lifetime |
|
|
of happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Aulds and Dr. Lewis as an expression of high |
|
|
regard by the Texas House of Representatives. |
