R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Honorable Alice Tomerlin retired as justice of |
|
|
the peace for Precinct 1 in Wood County in December 2014, having |
|
|
served area citizens with great distinction in that post for the |
|
|
past two decades; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Judge Tomerlin was first elected to the bench in |
|
|
1994, becoming one of the first Republican candidates to win office |
|
|
in Wood County; throughout her notable tenure, this esteemed Texan |
|
|
worked tirelessly to advance the common good, and she exemplified |
|
|
the highest standards of public service; her outstanding efforts |
|
|
garnered her the respect of her colleagues and the loyalty of |
|
|
voters, who repeatedly returned her to office over the years; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Alice Tomerlin helped to make Wood County an even |
|
|
better place in which to live and work through her dedication and |
|
|
professionalism, and she may take justifiable pride in her |
|
|
outstanding record of achievement; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Judge Alice Tomerlin on her |
|
|
retirement as justice of the peace for Precinct 1 in Wood County and |
|
|
extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it |
|
|
further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Judge Tomerlin as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
