R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, With the passing of Joanne Russell Williams on
  August 4, 2014, at the age of 83, the community of Mineola lost one
  of its most cherished residents; and
         WHEREAS, Born on July 27, 1931, in Grand Saline, the former
  Joanne Russell was the daughter of Herman and Effie Russell; she
  graduated from Grand Saline High School and went on to attend
  business college in Tyler; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Williams and her husband, Raymond, were loving
  parents to their two sons, Joe and Marty; for 65 years, the couple
  shared a close and caring relationship, and he preceded his wife in
  death by only 11 months; and
         WHEREAS, While her family always came first in her life,
  Mrs. Williams also devoted her time and energy to civic endeavors;
  a talented pianist, she played at countless church functions and
  funerals, helped to organize a cancer survivors' support group, and
  embarked on a career in the land title business at Wood County
  Title; in 1991, she was named Mineola Woman of the Year; and
         WHEREAS, Possessed of a kind and generous nature and admired
  for her elegant style, Joanne Williams made the world a better place
  for all who knew her, and they will forever hold her close in their
  hearts; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Joanne Russell
  Williams and extend sincere condolences to the members of her
  family: to her sons, Joe Williams and his wife, Chris, and Marty
  Williams and his wife, Nannette; to her grandchildren, Jason, Ryan,
  Kacie, Maria, and Stephanie Williams; to her great-grandchildren,
  Mackenzie Grantham, Caden Haugen, and Madison, Maecy, Kase, Kamryn,
  and Koley Williams; to her great-great-grandson, Cannon Goforth;
  and to her other relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Joanne
  Russell Williams.
