R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the
  passing of Jerre Wayne Bardin on September 28, 2013, at the age of
  74; and
         WHEREAS, Born in Winters, Jerre Bardin was the son of Evelyn
  Woods Bardin Long and Ephriam Daniel Dixson Bardin; he grew up as
  one of three children and graduated from Abilene High School, where
  he was drum major for the Eagle Band; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Bardin attended McMurry University for a year
  and worked in the photography department of the Reporter-News
  before joining the United States Navy; he graduated as honor man of
  his class at the U.S. Naval Radioman School with a final mark of
  97.97; and
         WHEREAS, A devoted father, Mr. Bardin took great pride in his
  six children, Andy, Shelly, Shawn, Noel, Laney, and Kolby, and in
  more recent years, he knew the joy of welcoming into his family 14
  grandchildren: Justin, Alex, Logan, Tristan, Ryan, and Karissa
  Bardin, Jeffrey, Timothy, Thomas, Emma, and Kyle Naro, Armando
  Melgoza, and Piper and Palmer Pitman; moreover, he was a loyal,
  caring friend and a talented artist; and
         WHEREAS, Jerre Bardin treasured the time he spent in the
  company of his loved ones, and those he leaves behind will in turn
  cherish their memories of this kind and thoughtful man; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Jerre Wayne Bardin and
  extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his
  children, Andy Bardin, Shelly Naro, Shawn Bardin, Noel Harris,
  Laney Pitman, and Kolby Bardin Monnig; to his 14 grandchildren; to
  his brother, James Bardin; to his sister, Judy Bardin; and to his
  many other relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Jerre Wayne
  Bardin.
