R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Reverend Christopher L. Taylor, pastor at |
|
Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church in Grand Prairie, is serving |
|
as Pastor of the Day for the Texas House of Representatives on April |
|
22, 2015; and |
|
WHEREAS, Pastor Taylor earned a bachelor's degree from Dallas |
|
Baptist University, and he continued his studies at Southern Bible |
|
Institute, Bishop College, and Dodge City Community College; and |
|
WHEREAS, He preached his first sermon under the guidance of |
|
his father, the Reverend C. Gaither, at Mount Pisgah Baptist Church |
|
in Bloomington, Illinois, and continued his religious journey at |
|
churches in Dallas, Fort Worth, Bloomington, and Texarkana, before |
|
becoming pastor of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church in 1992, |
|
and he has greatly benefited the congregation and the wider |
|
community through his dedication, compassion, and leadership; and |
|
WHEREAS, Blessed with a fine family, Pastor Taylor is the |
|
proud father of three children, Kristie, Morgan, and Christopher, |
|
and he enjoys many treasured moments with his grandson, Kayden; and |
|
WHEREAS, Through the years, Pastor Taylor has inspired |
|
numerous Texans with his message of faith and goodwill, and it is a |
|
pleasure to have him with us today; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby honor the Reverend Christopher L. Taylor for his |
|
service as Pastor of the Day and extend to him sincere best wishes |
|
for continued success in his important work; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Pastor Taylor as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
