R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories |
|
of Louis Dewald of Copperas Cove, who passed away on March 31, 2015, |
|
at the age of 68; and |
|
WHEREAS, Born in Lampasas on December 27, 1946, to Louis and |
|
Iris Dewald, "P. O." Dewald graduated in 1965 from Copperas Cove |
|
High School, where he excelled in a variety of sports, including |
|
football, basketball, baseball, track, and golf, and he |
|
subsequently earned a degree from Texas State University; and |
|
WHEREAS, On August 7, 1965, Mr. Dewald exchanged vows of |
|
matrimony with his high school sweetheart, the former Sheila |
|
Rogers, and the couple went on to share nearly five decades of |
|
marriage; over the years, they became the proud parents of three |
|
children, Jeff, Dustin, and Jodi, and they eventually welcomed six |
|
treasured grandchildren into their family; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Dewald had a fulfilling career that spanned more |
|
than four decades, over the course of which he worked as a |
|
developer, a home and school builder, and a rancher; active in his |
|
community, he generously volunteered his time with a number of |
|
civic organizations and as a Little League coach, and he was also an |
|
ardent supporter of Copperas Cove High athletics; in his leisure |
|
time, he enjoyed the company of his loved ones as well as hunting, |
|
fishing, team roping, and golfing; and |
|
WHEREAS, P. O. Dewald lived a rich and purposeful life, and he |
|
will forever be remembered with deep affection by all who knew him; |
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Louis "P. O." Dewald |
|
and extend sincere condolences to the members of his family: to his |
|
wife, Sheila Dewald; to his children, Jeff Dewald and his wife, |
|
Sylvia, Dustin Dewald and his wife, Tiffany, and Jodi Anderson and |
|
her husband, Bret; to his sisters, Carole Curtis and her husband, |
|
Chuck, and Coleen Timmons and her husband, Rick; to his |
|
grandchildren, Davis, Riki-Ann, Drew, and D. J. Dewald and Bryce |
|
and Jayce Anderson; and to his other relatives and many friends; |
|
and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Louis |
|
"P. O." Dewald. |
