R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, The members of the Silsbee High School boys' track
  and field team delivered a notable performance at the Longhorn
  Relays track meet on March 19, 2015; and
         WHEREAS, Competing against other talented teams from around
  the area at Hamshire-Fannett High School, the Tigers finished in
  fourth place with 68 total points; and
         WHEREAS, Silsbee was led by freshman Kalon Barnes, who tied
  for first place in the 200-meter dash with an impressive time of
  22.45 seconds; teammate Tre Lowe followed in third place with a time
  of 22.76 to take home the bronze medal, and he also reached the
  podium in the 100-meter dash by crossing the finish line in third at
  11.33 seconds; moreover, Dontre Care scored crucial points for the
  team with his third-place finish in the 110-meter hurdles race, and
  he took fifth in the 300-meter hurdles; and
         WHEREAS, The Tigers 4 x 200-meter relay team placed fourth
  while the 4 x 400-meter relay team completed its race in fifth
  place; in the field events, Roderick Harper earned third place in
  the high jump while Patrick Hudson was fourth in the shot put, and
  Greg Lundvick and Heath Jones took part in the discus, finishing in
  fifth and sixth, respectively; and
         WHEREAS, The 2014-2015 Tigers boys' track squad is continuing
  the Silsbee High tradition of athletic excellence, and these
  talented student-athletes may indeed take justifiable pride in the
  skill and dedication they have demonstrated throughout the season;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby commend the Silsbee High School boys' track and
  field team on its performance at the 2015 Longhorn Relays and extend
  to the team's athletes, coaches, and staff sincere best wishes for
  continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
