R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Naomi Mangum of Waco has deservedly been honored
  with a 25-year service certificate by the National Society United
  States Daughters of 1812; and
         WHEREAS, Founded in 1892, the N.S.U.S.D. of 1812 is a women's
  service organization dedicated to promoting patriotism, fostering
  a greater knowledge of American history, and preserving historical
  documents and relics; the group maintains, at its national
  headquarters in Washington, D.C., a museum and library devoted to
  the period extending from the close of the American Revolution to
  the end of the War of 1812; and
         WHEREAS, The 25-year accolade is presented to individuals who
  have dedicated a quarter-century of service to the N.S.U.S.D. of
  1812; a charter member of the Jordan Bass Chapter, Ms. Mangum has
  volunteered countless hours to advancing the goals of the
  organization while serving in a number of important leadership
  roles, including chaplain, historian, and curator-librarian; and
         WHEREAS, Naomi Mangum has helped to further the important
  mission of the National Society United States Daughters of 1812,
  and it is indeed appropriate to recognize her for her outstanding
  contributions; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Naomi Mangum on her receipt of a
  25-year service certificate from the National Society United States
  Daughters of 1812 and extend to her sincere best wishes for the
  future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Mangum as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
