R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Naomi Mangum of Waco has deservedly been honored |
|
with a 25-year service certificate by the National Society United |
|
States Daughters of 1812; and |
|
WHEREAS, Founded in 1892, the N.S.U.S.D. of 1812 is a women's |
|
service organization dedicated to promoting patriotism, fostering |
|
a greater knowledge of American history, and preserving historical |
|
documents and relics; the group maintains, at its national |
|
headquarters in Washington, D.C., a museum and library devoted to |
|
the period extending from the close of the American Revolution to |
|
the end of the War of 1812; and |
|
WHEREAS, The 25-year accolade is presented to individuals who |
|
have dedicated a quarter-century of service to the N.S.U.S.D. of |
|
1812; a charter member of the Jordan Bass Chapter, Ms. Mangum has |
|
volunteered countless hours to advancing the goals of the |
|
organization while serving in a number of important leadership |
|
roles, including chaplain, historian, and curator-librarian; and |
|
WHEREAS, Naomi Mangum has helped to further the important |
|
mission of the National Society United States Daughters of 1812, |
|
and it is indeed appropriate to recognize her for her outstanding |
|
contributions; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Naomi Mangum on her receipt of a |
|
25-year service certificate from the National Society United States |
|
Daughters of 1812 and extend to her sincere best wishes for the |
|
future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Ms. Mangum as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
