R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Dana Ables is retiring from the Millsap Independent
  School District at the end of the 2014-2015 school year, following
  nearly a half-century of outstanding service; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Ables began teaching first grade at Millsap
  Elementary School in 1968; over the course of her career, she has
  earned the admiration of students, parents, and fellow educators
  alike for her positive attitude and for the nurturing environment
  she creates in the classroom; in addition to ensuring that each of
  her pupils has a strong academic foundation on which to build, she
  has imparted valuable life lessons about hard work and discipline
  and also about kindness, compassion, and courtesy to others; and
         WHEREAS, This energetic and creative educator serves as a
  mentor to many of her fellow teachers while continuing to stay
  current with the latest strategies and best practices in her field;
  moreover, she has had the pleasure of teaching multiple generations
  in a number of area families; and
         WHEREAS, Teaching calls for character, commitment, and
  passion, and Dana Ables has demonstrated those qualities in
  abundance throughout her exemplary 47-year tenure; now, therefore,
  be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Dana Ables on her retirement from
  the Millsap ISD and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued
  success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Ables as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
