R E S O L U T I O N
|

|
|
WHEREAS, The talented cast and crew of the One-Act Play team |
|
|
from Silsbee High School have advanced to University |
|
|
Interscholastic League bi-district competition; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Under the guidance of director Jennifer Welch, this |
|
|
outstanding troupe impressed the judges at the 2015 district meet |
|
|
with its production of To See the Stars by Cynthia Mercati, a play |
|
|
based on a true story about young girls protesting the brutal |
|
|
working conditions at a factory in New York City in 1909; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In addition to the overall victory of the cast and |
|
|
crew, Kennedy Thompson was named to the All-Star Cast and Alex |
|
|
Taylor earned an honorable mention for his performance; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Through their talent and hard work, the members of |
|
|
the Silsbee High One-Act Play team have brought great credit to |
|
|
their school in the dramatic arts; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate the Silsbee High School One-Act |
|
|
Play cast and crew for advancing to UIL bi-district competition and |
|
|
extend to them sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it |
|
|
further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the group as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
