R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Members of the Rockwall County Republican Women are |
|
|
gathering in Austin on April 16, 2015, to celebrate the Texas |
|
|
Federation of Republican Women Legislative Day at the Capitol; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Founded in 1976, this notable club is dedicated to |
|
|
advancing conservative principles and helping Republican |
|
|
candidates win elected office; the RCRW also works to educate |
|
|
voters about key issues and legislation, and its members promote |
|
|
the standing of women by encouraging their involvement in political |
|
|
matters; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The RCRW also supports a number of worthwhile causes |
|
|
in the local area, hosting yard sales and other fund-raisers and |
|
|
providing assistance to several nonprofit organizations; moreover, |
|
|
the group annually awards a scholarship to three students in the |
|
|
Rockwall Independent School District; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Through their grassroots advocacy, members of the |
|
|
Rockwall County Republican Women are making a lasting difference in |
|
|
their community, state, and nation, and they may take justifiable |
|
|
pride in the exemplary model of citizenship they have set for their |
|
|
fellow Texans; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commend the members of the Rockwall County |
|
|
Republican Women on their outstanding civic engagement and extend |
|
|
to them sincere best wishes for an informative and enjoyable visit |
|
|
to Austin; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the club as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
