R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, The Corpus Christi Chapter of the American Heart
  Association is holding its annual Go Red for Women Luncheon on May
  13, 2015, and this event serves as a notable example of the
  organization's important work in the community; and
         WHEREAS, The American Heart Association is dedicated to
  improving the cardiovascular health of all Americans through
  research, advocacy, and educational programs and by enhancing the
  quality of patient care; the group also focuses on women and African
  Americans to enable those with a greater risk for heart disease and
  stroke to better protect themselves; and
         WHEREAS, In Corpus Christi, volunteers with the AHA organize
  events and outreach initiatives to help local residents become more
  knowledgeable about how to lead healthier lives; this year, in
  addition to the Go Red for Women Luncheon, the group held a Heart
  Ball on February 14, and they will host the 2015 Corpus Christi
  Heart Walk on October 3 to continue raising funds and awareness; and
         WHEREAS, By supporting the many worthy programs of the
  American Heart Association, volunteers in Corpus Christi are
  helping to improve the quality of life of countless area residents,
  and they may indeed take justifiable pride in their contributions;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby commend the Corpus Christi Chapter of the
  American Heart Association for its efforts to raise awareness about
  cardiovascular health and extend to all those involved with the
  organization sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the chapter as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
