R E S O L U T I O N
|

|
|
WHEREAS, The year 2015 marks the 30th anniversary of the |
|
|
founding of the Economic Alliance Houston Port Region, originally |
|
|
established as the Southeast Harris County Economic Development |
|
|
Corporation in Deer Park; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This notable organization was formed to build a |
|
|
sustainable and thriving regional economy with a diverse range of |
|
|
industry in one of the world's most influential energy corridors |
|
|
and trade ports; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Economic Alliance membership includes cities, |
|
|
communities, chambers of commerce, higher education institutions, |
|
|
independent school districts, and businesses as well as Harris |
|
|
County and the Port of Houston Authority; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Through the endeavors of the Economic Alliance, |
|
|
thousands of jobs have been created and capital investment totaling |
|
|
billions of dollars has been attracted to the greater Houston |
|
|
region; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Economic Alliance Houston Port Region serves as |
|
|
an outstanding advocate for enterprises that contribute greatly to |
|
|
the prosperity of the region, and the benefits of its |
|
|
accomplishments will positively affect Texans long into the future; |
|
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Economic |
|
|
Alliance Houston Port Region and extend to all those involved in the |
|
|
organization sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the Economic Alliance as an expression of high regard |
|
|
by the Texas House of Representatives. |
