R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Marcus Hill of Watauga was recognized by Texas
  Agricultural Lifetime Leadership with a Lifetime Achievement Award
  in 2015; and
         WHEREAS, Texas Agricultural Lifetime Leadership, or TALL, is
  a program of the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service that seeks to
  prepare men and women for challenging careers in agriculture;
  Mr. Hill, a founding member of TALL, has given generously of his
  time and resources to the program since its establishment in 1987;
  he has continuously served on the program's advisory board and has
  further lent his expertise to the TALL cohort selection committee;
  and
         WHEREAS, A native of Sulphur Springs who served as president
  of the Texas FFA, Marcus Hill graduated from Texas A&M University in
  1971 with a bachelor's degree in agricultural education and worked
  toward a master's degree in educational psychology; he began
  selling insurance with National Farm Life during college, and after
  his graduation, he was hired full-time by the business and its
  subsidiary, Agricultural Workers Mutual Auto Insurance Company;
  and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Hill went on to accept increasing levels of
  responsibility in Ag Workers, including appointment as its
  president in 1988 and as chair of its board of directors in 2006;
  and
         WHEREAS, Deeply committed to Texas agriculture and to youth
  who aspire to careers in the field, Mr. Hill serves on the Texas 4-H
  Youth Development Foundation Board and chairs the Youth Educational
  Activities Committee at the State Fair of Texas; he is a director of
  the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo, and he frequently attends local
  stock shows and fairs to support young competitors; in addition, he
  is a former member of the Texas FFA Foundation and has served as
  chair of the Attorney General's Youth Conference; and
         WHEREAS, This dynamic Texan's experience includes membership
  on the College of Agriculture Development Council at Texas A&M, the
  Chancellor's Council at Texas Tech University, and the Dean's
  Advisory Council for the College of Agricultural and Environmental
  Sciences at Tarleton State University; he has served as chair of the
  Tarrant County Program Building Committee and as a member of the
  Farm and Ranch Club of the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce and the
  Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association, to name but a
  few of the organizations that have benefited from his involvement;
  and
         WHEREAS, Through his inspired leadership in a wide range of
  agricultural endeavors, Marcus Hill has garnered the respect and
  admiration of many, and this award justly acknowledges his enduring
  service in behalf of the youth of Texas and his contributions in the
  field of agriculture; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Marcus Hill on his receipt of a
  Lifetime Achievement Award from Texas Agricultural Lifetime
  Leadership and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Hill as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
