R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The 100th birthday of an esteemed Texan is indeed a
  special occasion, and Clidell Elliott of Troup marked this
  significant milestone in her life with family and friends on
  December 28, 2014; and
         WHEREAS, Born in Milam County in 1914, the former Clidell
  Wornick is the daughter of Ibra Terry and Lilly Pearl Pennington
  Wornick; she moved to East Texas with her family as a child and
  later relocated to a small farm outside of Troup in the early 1920s;
  after attending the Sharptop School in the community of Henry's
  Chapel, she graduated from high school in Troup with the Class of
  1933; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Elliott moved to Houston in 1941 and worked for
  her sister at cafes in the Bayou City and in nearby Pasadena during
  World War II, eventually going to work for First Pasadena State
  Bank; after marrying in 1948 and welcoming a son, Bill, she became a
  full-time homemaker for a few years; returning to the workforce,
  she gained employment at San Jacinto State Bank, from which she
  retired in 1981 after 27 years of notable service; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Elliott lived in Colorado near her son's family
  before making Pasadena her home for nearly a decade; in 1997, she
  purchased property near her childhood home and lives there today
  with her son; and
         WHEREAS, Clidell Elliott is a source of tremendous
  inspiration, and in sharing the experience gained through a century
  of life well lived, she bestows a precious gift of wisdom that
  benefits all who are fortunate enough to know her; now, therefore,
  be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Clidell Elliott on the occasion of
  her 100th birthday and extend to her sincere best wishes for
  continued happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mrs. Elliott as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
