R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The certain knowledge of a life well lived may
  comfort those saddened by the passing of Edward Andrew Bennett Jr.
  of Holly Lake Ranch on January 8, 2015, at the age of 82; and
         WHEREAS, Born on Valentine's Day 1932 in San Antonio, Ed
  Bennett was the only child of Edward Bennett Sr. and Louise LaFitte
  Bennett; he moved with his family to Houston and later to Waco,
  where he graduated from high school in 1949; and
         WHEREAS, A registered professional engineer, Mr. Bennett
  received a degree in mechanical engineering from Texas A&M
  University in 1953 and went on to serve in the U.S. Army artillery
  before earning his master's degree in Austin; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Bennett enjoyed a notable career as GSI's
  manager for Europe, Africa, and the Middle East before serving as
  president of GEO Space in Houston; he retired following 25 years as
  owner and operator of Texas Air Management, an HVAC contracting
  company; and
         WHEREAS, Active in his community, this esteemed gentleman
  served as a trustee for the Harmony Independent School District,
  Lamb & Lion Ministries, and Holly Tree Chapel, where he and his
  family were longtime congregants; and
         WHEREAS, Although Ed Bennett will be deeply missed, cherished
  memories of time spent in his company will long endure in the hearts
  of his family and friends; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Edward Andrew Bennett
  Jr. and extend sincere condolences to the members of his family: to
  his wife of 40 years, Bettysu Longley Bennett; to his daughter,
  Jacqueline Bennett; to his son, Brent Northcutt, and his wife,
  Michelle; to his granddaughters, Madison Marie and Morgan Marie
  Northcutt; and to his other relatives and friends; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Edward
  Andrew Bennett Jr.
