R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, For more than eight decades, the Frisco Garden Club
  has worked diligently to beautify public spaces and improve quality
  of life in North Texas; and
         WHEREAS, One of the oldest institutions of its kind in
  Frisco, the club was founded in 1932 by a group of women who wished
  to foster interest in home gardening, encourage civic engagement,
  and work toward the protection and conservation of native plants,
  wildflowers, and bird species; and
         WHEREAS, Today, the Frisco Garden Club has grown to include
  84 active and 4 honorary members who remain committed to the club's
  motto of "A flower in every garden, joy in every heart"; the
  organization gives back to the wider community by conducting
  plantings at parks, organizing the annual Frisco Veterans of
  Foreign Wars Memorial Day Service, and completing a number of other
  worthwhile projects; moreover, the club works together with the
  Frisco Educational Foundation to award scholarships to local
  students seeking a college degree in horticulture, agricultural
  sciences, or environmental sciences; and
         WHEREAS, The Frisco Garden Club has brightened and enriched
  the lives of fellow citizens through its careful stewardship of the
  natural world, and its many achievements are indeed deserving of
  special recognition; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby commend the Frisco Garden Club for its important
  work in behalf of the community and extend to the club best wishes
  for continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the Frisco Garden Club as an expression of high regard
  by the Texas House of Representatives.
