R E S O L U T I O N
|

|
|
WHEREAS, Victoria Salinas of W. B. Ray High School was |
|
|
honored for her exceptional achievements during the 2014-2015 |
|
|
season by being chosen as a member of the first team in the Corpus |
|
|
Christi Caller-Times All-South Texas basketball awards selections; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Salinas excelled throughout the year, averaging |
|
|
16.3 points and 7.2 rebounds per game as she helped the Texans make |
|
|
their first playoff appearance as a Class 6A team; she was also |
|
|
selected for the 28-6A All-District team; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The daughter of Juan and Ana Salinas, Victoria |
|
|
Salinas is an accomplished student, ranked in the top 10 percent of |
|
|
her junior class; she is a member of the National Honor Society and |
|
|
the Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica, and in college she plans to major |
|
|
in physical therapy and sports medicine; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The All-South Texas award provides fitting |
|
|
acknowledgement of the talent, hard work, and commitment to |
|
|
excellence demonstrated by this exemplary student-athlete, and she |
|
|
may take justifiable pride in her accomplishments; now, therefore, |
|
|
be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Victoria Salinas on being chosen as |
|
|
a member of the first team in the Corpus Christi Caller-Times |
|
|
All-South Texas basketball awards selections and extend to her |
|
|
sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Salinas as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
