R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The rank of Eagle Scout is an achievement shared by
  only a select few, and the attainment of this significant honor by
  William Colin Nelson of Houston heralds a future bright with
  opportunity and promise; and
         WHEREAS, The son of John Nelson and Janet Scalia, this fine
  young Texan has mastered a number of important skills in his quest
  to become an Eagle Scout; he has earned 34 merit badges requiring
  expertise in such diverse areas as archery, geology, and
  photography; moreover, he has gained experience in leadership and
  teamwork while undertaking his Eagle Scout project, which involved
  constructing flower and vegetable garden boxes for two classrooms
  at the Montessori Country Day School in Houston; and
         WHEREAS, A valued member of Boy Scout Troop No. 652 and the
  Order of the Arrow, Mr. Nelson has served his peers as a patrol,
  assistant senior patrol, and senior patrol leader, and in so doing,
  he has exemplified the many positive traits for which Boy Scouts are
  renowned; and
         WHEREAS, In fulfilling the rigorous requirements for
  attaining the Eagle Scout insignia, William Colin Nelson has
  demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the Boy Scouts
  organization and its ideals, and the knowledge and confidence he
  has acquired along the way will indeed serve him well in the years
  to come; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Eagle Scout William Colin Nelson on
  achieving this prestigious rank and extend to him sincere best
  wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Eagle Scout Nelson as an expression of high regard by
  the Texas House of Representatives.
