R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, The Eagle Scout insignia is bestowed on those |
|
members of the Boy Scouts of America who advance through the program |
|
to its highest rank, and Alex Dodd of Houston may now count himself |
|
a member of that select group; and |
|
WHEREAS, The son of David Dodd and Penny Dodd, this junior at |
|
Second Baptist School has mastered a number of important skills in |
|
his quest to become an Eagle Scout; he has earned merit badges |
|
requiring expertise in such diverse areas as first aid, personal |
|
fitness, environmental science, woodcarving, and public speaking, |
|
and he has gained experience in leadership and teamwork while |
|
undertaking his Eagle Scout project, which involved making |
|
improvements to several Spring Branch Memorial Sports Association |
|
playing fields; and |
|
WHEREAS, A valued member of Boy Scout Troop No. 13 in |
|
Houston, Mr. Dodd has served his peers as a den chief, troop guide, |
|
patrol leader, and crew leader, and in so doing, he has exemplified |
|
the many positive traits for which Boy Scouts are renowned; and |
|
WHEREAS, In fulfilling the rigorous requirements for |
|
attaining the Eagle Scout insignia, Alex Dodd has demonstrated an |
|
unwavering commitment to the Boy Scouts organization and its |
|
ideals, and the knowledge and confidence he has acquired along the |
|
way will indeed serve him well in the years to come; now, therefore, |
|
be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Eagle Scout Alex Dodd on achieving |
|
this prestigious rank and extend to him sincere best wishes for |
|
continued success and happiness; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Eagle Scout Dodd as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
