R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, The Eagle Scout insignia is bestowed on those |
|
members of the Boy Scouts of America who advance through the program |
|
to its highest rank, and Jason Ian Thomas of Bellaire may now count |
|
himself a member of that select group; and |
|
WHEREAS, The son of Vic and Carol Thomas and a junior at the |
|
DeBakey High School for Health Professions, this fine young Texan |
|
has mastered a number of important skills in his quest to become an |
|
Eagle Scout; he has earned 22 merit badges requiring expertise in |
|
such diverse areas as first aid, personal fitness, environmental |
|
science, and carpentry; he has gained further experience in |
|
leadership and teamwork while undertaking his Eagle Scout project, |
|
which involved designing and planting a community garden at Christ |
|
the King Presbyterian Church in Houston; and |
|
WHEREAS, A valued member of Boy Scout Troop No. 13 in |
|
Houston, Mr. Thomas has served his peers as a troop librarian, |
|
chaplain, and guide, and in so doing, he has exemplified the many |
|
positive traits for which Boy Scouts are renowned; and |
|
WHEREAS, In fulfilling the rigorous requirements for |
|
attaining the Eagle Scout insignia, Jason Thomas has demonstrated |
|
an unwavering commitment to the Boy Scouts organization and its |
|
ideals, and the knowledge and confidence he has acquired along the |
|
way will indeed serve him well in the years to come; now, therefore, |
|
be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Eagle Scout Jason Ian Thomas on |
|
achieving this prestigious rank and extend to him sincere best |
|
wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Eagle Scout Thomas as an expression of high regard by |
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
