R E S O L U T I O N
|

|
|
WHEREAS, The Eagle Scout insignia is bestowed on those |
|
|
members of the Boy Scouts of America who advance through the program |
|
|
to its highest rank, and Jay Robert Kennedy of Houston may now count |
|
|
himself a member of that select group; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The son of Robert and Colleen Kennedy, this Baylor |
|
|
University freshman has mastered a number of important skills in |
|
|
his quest to become an Eagle Scout; he has earned merit badges |
|
|
requiring expertise in such diverse areas as first aid, personal |
|
|
fitness, and environmental science, and he has gained experience in |
|
|
leadership and teamwork while undertaking his Eagle Scout project, |
|
|
which involved making and installing a pair of custom Texas |
|
|
sandstone benches at the entrance to Fort Travis in Galveston; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A valued member of Boy Scout Troop No. 13 in |
|
|
Houston, Mr. Kennedy has served his peers as a crew leader and |
|
|
webmaster, and in so doing, he has exemplified the many positive |
|
|
traits for which Boy Scouts are renowned; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In fulfilling the rigorous requirements for |
|
|
attaining the Eagle Scout insignia, Jay Kennedy has demonstrated an |
|
|
unwavering commitment to the Boy Scouts organization and its |
|
|
ideals, and the knowledge and confidence he has acquired along the |
|
|
way will indeed serve him well in the years to come; now, therefore, |
|
|
be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Eagle Scout Jay Robert Kennedy on |
|
|
achieving this prestigious rank and extend to him sincere best |
|
|
wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Eagle Scout Kennedy as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
