R E S O L U T I O N
|

|
|
WHEREAS, The Eagle Scout insignia is bestowed on those |
|
|
members of the Boy Scouts of America who advance through the program |
|
|
to its highest rank, and Paul H. Rush of Hunters Creek may now count |
|
|
himself a member of that select group; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A sophomore at Second Baptist School, this fine |
|
|
young Texan has mastered a number of important skills in his quest |
|
|
to become an Eagle Scout; he has earned 24 merit badges requiring |
|
|
expertise in such diverse areas as first aid, personal fitness, and |
|
|
environmental science, and he has gained experience in leadership |
|
|
and teamwork while undertaking his Eagle Scout project, which |
|
|
involved enhancing the children's play area at the Star of Hope |
|
|
Mission service agency for the homeless; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A valued member of Boy Scout Troop No. 13 in |
|
|
Houston, Mr. Rush has served his peers as a patrol leader, |
|
|
quartermaster, historian, and group guide, and in so doing, he has |
|
|
exemplified the many positive traits for which Boy Scouts are |
|
|
renowned; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In fulfilling the rigorous requirements for |
|
|
attaining the Eagle Scout insignia, Paul Rush has demonstrated an |
|
|
unwavering commitment to the Boy Scouts organization and its |
|
|
ideals, and the knowledge and confidence he has acquired along the |
|
|
way will indeed serve him well in the years to come; now, therefore, |
|
|
be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Eagle Scout Paul H. Rush on |
|
|
achieving this prestigious rank and extend to him sincere best |
|
|
wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Eagle Scout Rush as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
