R E S O L U T I O N

|
WHEREAS, The loved ones of Guadalupe L. Garcia of Corpus |
|
|
Christi were greatly saddened by his passing on March 30, 2015, at |
|
|
the age of 79; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Affectionately known as "Buddie," Guadalupe Garcia |
|
|
was born on June 18, 1935, in Barranco Blanco Ranch to Ernesto and |
|
|
Elmira Laurel Garcia; he was a talented member of the Benavides High |
|
|
School football team, and he later served his country with |
|
|
distinction in the United States Army; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Garcia was blessed with |
|
|
the love and support of his wife of 56 years, Hilda; he was the proud |
|
|
father of Annabel, Hilda, Rolando, and Orlando, and he doted on his |
|
|
grandchildren and great-granddaughter; in his leisure time, he |
|
|
enjoyed visiting his ranch, hunting with his sons and grandsons, |
|
|
and attending dances with his wife; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Guadalupe Garcia cherished the time he spent in the |
|
|
company of his family and friends, and those he leaves behind will |
|
|
in turn treasure their memories of this kind and caring man; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Guadalupe L. Garcia |
|
|
and extend heartfelt sympathy to the members of his family: to his |
|
|
wife, Hilda R. Garcia; to his children, Annabel Garcia Cano, Hilda |
|
|
Lathrop, Rolando Garcia and his wife, Doris, and Orlando Garcia; to |
|
|
his grandchildren, Juan, Joseph, Javier, Dayne, Jacob, Desiree and |
|
|
her husband, Eddie, Payge, and Christopher; to his |
|
|
great-grandchild, Alaura Frances; to his sister, Lydia Barrera, and |
|
|
her husband, Alfelio; and to his other relatives and friends; and, |
|
|
be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Guadalupe |
|
|
Garcia. |
