R E S O L U T I O N

|
|
WHEREAS, The Floyd Insurance Agency has served Robstown |
|
|
residents for more than seven decades; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Founded in 1942 by Jerry Floyd and Ruby Lee Floyd, |
|
|
the business is now led by their son, Ed Floyd, who has worked in the |
|
|
firm for 57 years; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The staff today also includes Ed Floyd's son, |
|
|
representing the third generation in the business; providing |
|
|
further depth of experience is Gaye Mejia, who has been employed by |
|
|
the company for 29 years; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Well-established family businesses contribute to |
|
|
the stability and long-term prosperity of their communities, and Ed |
|
|
Floyd and the staff of the Floyd Insurance Agency are continuing to |
|
|
add to the local economy as they build on the company's impressive |
|
|
history of success; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby honor the Floyd Insurance Agency and extend to |
|
|
Ed Floyd and his staff sincere best wishes for the future; and, be |
|
|
it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the company as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
