R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, The Carrollton/Farmers Branch Cyclones Special
  Olympics Team is holding a gala dinner on May 15, 2015, to
  commemorate the 25th anniversary of the team's establishment; and
         WHEREAS, Founded in 1990 by Julia Scott and Patrick Noonan,
  the Carrollton/Farmers Branch Cyclones is a chartered Special
  Olympics team that provides adults and children with intellectual
  disabilities year-round sports training and competition in a wide
  variety of athletic events; the program relies solely on volunteers
  and is responsible for raising funds to cover entry fees and
  expenses related to training and travel; and
         WHEREAS, Since its inception, the team has offered hundreds
  of athletes the opportunity to compete in such diverse activities
  as basketball, bowling, aquatics, track, bocce, and flag football;
  team members have represented the cities of Carrollton and Farmers
  Branch at local, area, and statewide contests every year; and
         WHEREAS, The talented athletes of the Carrollton/Farmers
  Branch Cyclones have demonstrated great enthusiasm and
  determination in the pursuit of their goals, and together with
  their many supporters in the community they have created memories
  that will last a lifetime; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby recognize the Carrollton/Farmers Branch
  Cyclones on the occasion of the team's 25th anniversary and extend
  to all those associated with this outstanding program sincere best
  wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the Cyclones as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
