R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Lieutenant Irvin M. Brown of the Nueces County |
|
|
Sheriff's Office lost his life in the line of duty on February 13, |
|
|
1995, and his service and sacrifice will not soon be forgotten; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In charge of the DARE program since 1987, Lieutenant |
|
|
Brown suffered a fatal heart attack while driving the agency's DARE |
|
|
vehicle on the John F. Kennedy Memorial Causeway; the lieutenant |
|
|
was survived by his wife; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Our state and nation benefit immeasurably from the |
|
|
courage and commitment of law enforcement professionals such as |
|
|
Lieutenant Irvin M. Brown, who willingly place themselves in harm's |
|
|
way each day to safeguard the lives and property of their fellow |
|
|
citizens; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life and exemplary service of |
|
|
Lieutenant Irvin M. Brown of the Nueces County Sheriff's Office. |
