R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Lieutenant Irvin M. Brown of the Nueces County
  Sheriff's Office lost his life in the line of duty on February 13,
  1995, and his service and sacrifice will not soon be forgotten; and
         WHEREAS, In charge of the DARE program since 1987, Lieutenant
  Brown suffered a fatal heart attack while driving the agency's DARE
  vehicle on the John F. Kennedy Memorial Causeway; the lieutenant
  was survived by his wife; and
         WHEREAS, Our state and nation benefit immeasurably from the
  courage and commitment of law enforcement professionals such as
  Lieutenant Irvin M. Brown, who willingly place themselves in harm's
  way each day to safeguard the lives and property of their fellow
  citizens; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life and exemplary service of
  Lieutenant Irvin M. Brown of the Nueces County Sheriff's Office.
