R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Deputy Thomas Nolan of the Nueces County Sheriff's |
|
|
Office lost his life in the line of duty on August 15, 1860, and his |
|
|
service and sacrifice will not soon be forgotten; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A 24-year-old, 3-year veteran of the sheriff's |
|
|
office, Deputy Nolan was shot while attempting to arrest a suspect |
|
|
who was causing a public disturbance; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Our state and nation benefit immeasurably from the |
|
|
courage and commitment of law enforcement professionals such as |
|
|
Deputy Thomas Nolan, who willingly place themselves in harm's way |
|
|
each day to safeguard the lives and property of their fellow |
|
|
citizens; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life and exemplary service of |
|
|
Deputy Thomas Nolan of the Nueces County Sheriff's Office. |
