R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Deputy Constable Patrick Stephen Runyon of the |
|
Nueces County Constable's Office lost his life in the line of duty |
|
on February 7, 1981, and his service and sacrifice will not soon be |
|
forgotten; and |
|
WHEREAS, A 32-year-old member of the department, Deputy |
|
Runyon was fatally shot while responding to a misdemeanor criminal |
|
mischief call at a residence; at the time of his death, he was |
|
survived by his wife, child, parents, and eight siblings; and |
|
WHEREAS, Our state and nation benefit immeasurably from the |
|
courage and commitment of law enforcement professionals such as |
|
Deputy Constable Patrick Runyon, who willingly place themselves in |
|
harm's way each day to safeguard the lives and property of their |
|
fellow citizens; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life and exemplary service of |
|
Deputy Constable Patrick Stephen Runyon of the Nueces County |
|
Constable's Office. |
