R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The city of Socorro has greatly benefited from the |
|
|
dedicated leadership of the Honorable Jesus Ruiz, who was elected |
|
|
mayor in 2013; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, During his tenure in municipal government, Mayor |
|
|
Ruiz has ably guided the city with an eye to the future, and his |
|
|
knowledge and expertise in a wide range of community issues have |
|
|
earned him the respect of many people along the way; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mayor Ruiz holds a bachelor's degree in history from |
|
|
New Mexico State University, and in addition to his service to the |
|
|
City of Socorro, he works as a case manager for Southwest Key |
|
|
Services, a national nonprofit dedicated to helping young people |
|
|
and families in need; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Each day, public servants improve the quality of |
|
|
life for their fellow citizens in innumerable ways, and the efforts |
|
|
of Jesus Ruiz are helping to make Socorro an even better place in |
|
|
which to live and work; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commend Mayor Jesus Ruiz for his exemplary |
|
|
public service and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued |
|
|
happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mayor Ruiz as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
