R E S O L U T I O N

|
WHEREAS, Lumberton High School softball player Breelyn |
|
|
Thames has been named a Wendy's 12Star Athlete of the Week by |
|
|
KBMT-TV; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A catcher for the Lady Raiders, Ms. Thames is |
|
|
enjoying an outstanding senior season, during which she has posted |
|
|
an impressive batting average and slugging percentage while leading |
|
|
the Lady Raiders in their quest to reach the postseason; she plans |
|
|
to continue her athletic career at the collegiate level in the fall |
|
|
as a member of the Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi softball |
|
|
team; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, With her exceptional achievements on the diamond, |
|
|
Breelyn Thames has become a source of pride for her school and |
|
|
community, and she is indeed deserving of this prestigious honor; |
|
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Breelyn Thames on her selection as |
|
|
a Wendy's 12Star Athlete of the Week and extend to her sincere best |
|
|
wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Thames as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
