R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The McAllen Independent School District Business |
|
|
Office has been selected to receive a 2015 Certificate of |
|
|
Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government |
|
|
Finance Officers Association; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Established in 1945, this accolade is the top form |
|
|
of recognition given by the GFOA in the area of governmental |
|
|
accounting and financial reporting; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, McAllen ISD earned its fifth consecutive |
|
|
certificate for the submission of its comprehensive annual |
|
|
financial report for fiscal year 2014; in addition to attaining |
|
|
this notable goal, the business office has been honored for its |
|
|
accounting practices with Leadership Circle Platinum Seal and Gold |
|
|
Seal Awards from the Office of the Texas Comptroller of Public |
|
|
Accounts as well as with the highest rating of the School Financial |
|
|
Integrity Rating System of Texas and a high quality bond rating |
|
|
from the Moody's, Standard & Poor's, and Fitch credit rating |
|
|
agencies; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Keeping transparent records of how public money is |
|
|
spent helps to maintain a high level of trust between citizens and |
|
|
their government, and the McAllen Independent School District truly |
|
|
merits praise for its accomplishments in this worthy endeavor; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate the McAllen Independent School |
|
|
District Business Office on its receipt of a Certificate of |
|
|
Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the |
|
|
Government Finance Officers Association and commend the staff for |
|
|
their outstanding work; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the school district as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
