R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Raylin Davis and Calum Foster of the Newton High |
|
|
School boys' basketball team have been named to the 2015 Texas |
|
|
Association of Basketball Coaches Academic All-State Team; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, To be eligible for this prestigious honor, students |
|
|
must be seniors with an overall grade point average of 92 or above |
|
|
and demonstrate good moral character; nominated by Newton High head |
|
|
coach Jeff Parks |
|
|
, Mr. Davis and Mr. Foster were selected to the 3A |
|
|
squad; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, By excelling in the classroom while meeting the |
|
|
demands of sports competition, these dedicated student-athletes |
|
|
have developed a strong work ethic and a determination to succeed |
|
|
that will serve them well in their future endeavors; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Raylin Davis and Calum Foster on |
|
|
being selected to the 2015 Texas Association of Basketball Coaches |
|
|
Academic All-State Team and extend to them sincere best wishes for |
|
|
continued achievement; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That official copies of this resolution be prepared |
|
|
for Mr. Davis and Mr. Foster as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
