R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Blue Ostrich Winery and Vineyard in Saint Jo has
  been selected as one of the 10 Texas Wineries Tucked Away and Worth
  the Drive by Texas Wine and Trail Magazine; and
         WHEREAS, Located in the Red River Valley region of North
  Texas, the Blue Ostrich Winery and Vineyard was once one of the
  leading ostrich ranches in the Southwest; owners Patrick and Julie
  Whitehead eventually transitioned the facilities into a winery,
  tasting room, and offices, and seven of the distinctive birds for
  which the operation is named still may be found on the property; and
         WHEREAS, Texas Wine and Trail Magazine chose the Blue Ostrich
  for its list not only for its outstanding wines but also because the
  winery is a unique place off the beaten path, and the owners provide
  visitors with an enjoyable and informative wine-tasting
  experience; and
         WHEREAS, Locally owned businesses make a welcome
  contribution to the prosperity and remarkable character of their
  communities, and the owners and staff of Blue Ostrich Winery and
  Vineyard may reflect with pride on the reputation for excellence
  that they have achieved; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate the Blue Ostrich Winery and
  Vineyard on its selection as one of the 10 Texas Wineries Tucked
  Away and Worth the Drive and extend to owners Patrick and Julie
  Whitehead and all those associated with the winery sincere best
  wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Whitehead as an expression of high regard
  by the Texas House of Representatives.
