R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Linda Fitzner, a theater arts teacher at Gold-Burg
  High School, has been nominated for a 2015 Outstanding Teacher of
  the Humanities Award; and
         WHEREAS, Each year, Humanities Texas recognizes exemplary
  educators across the state who teach such subjects as English,
  foreign languages, history, language arts, social studies, art,
  drama, and music; the 12 individuals who will be selected as the
  2015 Outstanding Teacher honorees will receive a $5,000 cash award,
  and their schools will receive an additional $500 for the purchase
  of humanities-based instructional materials; and
         WHEREAS, Linda Fitzner has been a member of the Gold-Burg
  High School faculty for 10 years; she directs the school's popular
  annual musical variety show, known as Celebration, which introduces
  young people to many areas of the performing arts, and she also
  oversees the Gold-Burg One-Act Play teams, two of which have
  advanced to state UIL competition; this accomplished educator has
  more than a quarter-century of experience and previously taught at
  Bowie High School and at Centennial High School in Frisco; and
         WHEREAS, The dramatic arts broaden horizons and deepen
  understanding of the human condition, and through her skill,
  enthusiasm, and dedication to her field, Linda Fitzner has enriched
  the lives of numerous students; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Linda Fitzner on being nominated
  for a 2015 Outstanding Teacher of the Humanities Award and extend to
  her sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Fitzner as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
