R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Haleigh Bacon and Cari Croninger of Callisburg High |
|
School earned first place in the Division 1 animation category of |
|
the 2015 University Interscholastic League State Film Contest; and |
|
WHEREAS, With their two-minute animated film, Home, the duo |
|
triumphed over more than 600 other entries from across the state, |
|
and they collected their award at the UIL Young Filmmakers |
|
Festival, held at the Paramount Theatre in Austin on February 18; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, The film tells the story of a boy searching for an |
|
elusive sense of "home," and it was written and directed by |
|
Ms. Bacon; the animation, which was praised for its creative detail |
|
and professional quality, was completed by Ms. Croninger; the young |
|
filmmakers were ably guided in their collaboration by computer |
|
science teacher and UIL coach Stephanie Striplin; and |
|
WHEREAS, Haleigh Bacon and Cari Croninger have shown great |
|
initiative and ability as they have worked to achieve their |
|
artistic goals, and they may indeed look forward to a future bright |
|
with promise; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Haleigh Bacon and Cari Croninger on |
|
winning first place in the Division 1 animation category of the 2015 |
|
UIL State Film Contest and extend to them sincere best wishes for |
|
continued success; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Ms. Bacon and Ms. Croninger as an expression of high |
|
regard by the Texas House of Representatives. |
